L'Adji Badiaga always remembers being able to make toys out of whatever he found. "There was no money to buy toys, so we made our own" L'Adji told us. When he had a family to support he made this talent into his business. He set up his workshop and market outlet boutique at the same spot in the "M'Golonina Market" where the antique dealers vend. In 1998 he and his 8 employees received training in design to further develop 'Atelier Mirya's' products into a unique line. They looked for inspiration in traditional Malien life, such as Dogon masked dancers and by applying their skill and creativity produced true works of art out of recycled metal from cut up tin cans.

L'Adji welcomes visitors to watch the production of the 'recycling artists' and can be found daily except Friday at the N'Golonina Market, Shop # AG 202.
