Cloud Mapete lives and works in Zimbabwe. His abstract carving entitled Mother is charming and, I think, very successful with the head rotated sideways and just one breast modestly uncovered, balancing the one eye above it. The lines and shapes flow nicely, interacting directly and with strength.
