In Sira Sissoko’s sensitive rendering Communication, her beautifully textured handmade paper is dyed with the natural dyes from plants she finds in her country, Mali. The word communication brings to mind countless visions and interpretations. In this small but stunning piece we see connections, indentations, interrelationships of color, juxtapositions of shades and movement of lines, all challenging the viewer to stop and interact with the work.
